In Search of the Perfect Perspective

After we took our first steps in moving images last year, video productions have now become a fixed part of our service portfolio. At the end of the year in December, we had three major productions lined up. Even if any film awards are (still) pending, the results and our new editor for photo, video & film are impressive.

"Filmmakers should remember that on Judgment Day, all their films will be played back to them."

Charlie Chaplin

Even if Charlie Chaplin turns out to be right in the end – we can watch our last two video productions again at any time with a clear conscience.

PROJECT GDPR: DATA PROTECTION FIRST!

With the implementation of the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) in May 2018, many companies are concerned about not being adequately prepared for all the guidelines, which could lead to significant penalties. Therefore, InterFace AG, a renowned IT consulting company from Unterhaching and a client of Medienstürmer, initiated an expert roundtable on the topic of GDPR.

The focus of the debate was whether and how it would be possible to offer GDPR "as-a-Service", allowing companies to outsource the internal implementation of the guidelines to external partners or receive consultation. And while the Medienstürmer film team, led by Philipp Bachhuber – the new editor for photo, video & film – set up their cameras and captured all scenes from various perspectives, a lively dialogue developed among the participants, providing the viewer with a concrete picture of the GDPR and all its legal and economic consequences.

PROJECT TEAMBUILDING: ACTION ON SET

We met client number 2 by chance during an earlier video shoot. One of the leading service providers in IT security was the "host" at SOS Children's Village when we produced a video there last summer together with the organizational consultancy CONOUT. There were fast soapbox cars and a bunch of happy children tinkering with their speedy racers alongside guests.

During the December shoot, the focus was not on charitable engagement but on a unique teambuilding activity. During a so-called X-Treme Performance, employees from all over Europe came together to engage in athletically challenging winter sports activities. The focus of the event was not competition but experiencing adrenaline-filled action events together. Whether it was snowshoe racing, electric snowmobiling, laser biathlon, or the thrilling bobsled ride through an ice channel – the atmosphere among the employees was always cheerful and relaxed – as can be seen in the cover photo. Unfortunately, we cannot publish the video here.

PROJECT TECH CHALLENGE:

In another project, our new editor for photo, video & film, Philipp Bachhuber, successfully supported a student project in the field of Robotics & Human-Machine Communication. The goal of the "Tech Challenge" was to depict future-oriented challenges from real companies and have them solved by young entrepreneurs. It primarily involved deciphering tough algorithms and inventing new robotic applications.

On February 1, 2018, a team succeeded with their Robo-project "edubotics" and took first place in the Tech Challenge.

Before the award ceremony, the competing 18 teams each presented a self-produced video about their respective projects. Philipp Bachhuber produced the video of the winner, contributing his part to the success.

The product edubotics is a Robot Development Box that allows children in Africa to build their own robots. The edubotics box provides all necessary software and hardware supplies as well as comprehensive tutorials to enable children to code (theoretically) without a teacher. The collaboration and distribution are handled by the African company "STEM Center", which purchases the relatively inexpensive edubotics boxes and passes them on to the children. You can find everything else in the video by Philipp Bachhuber, who will be warmly welcomed after this successful project completion, expanding the editorial team with another valuable member. We are certainly very satisfied with all previous productions and therefore do not fear Judgment Day.
